Crowns & Bridges

A crown is a cap that is placed on a tooth that has lost its tooth structure. You can choose a full porcelain or full metal crown. There are advantages and disadvantages to both which we can explain in full detail in our office at the time a crown consultation is needed.

A bridge is a restoration piece that links the teeth on either side of a missing tooth in order to close the gap. Bridges can be comprised of various materials such as gold; porcelain fused to metal; or porcelain alone, and the choice of material should be discussed directly with Dr. Rossi in order to choose the solution best suited to your need.

Creating a permanent crown or bridge involves several stages and begins with preparing the teeth, and then making impressions of the tooth/teeth involved. While the process is underway, we can fit you with a temporary crown or bridge to ensure your comfort and ability to chew and use that portion of your mouth. The next step involves assessing the final crown or bridge from the impression taken, so that it fits in place seamlessly. Once final adjustments are done in the office, the crown is cemented into place, or the bridge is installed, and you're all done!
