Children's Oral Health

Being moms ourselves, we know that a trip to the dentist can be a
scary proposition for a child; so we work hard to ensure that your
child is confident, comfortable and engaged during every visit.

According to the Canadian Dental Association (CDA), "Sealants are excellent protection against cavities. In addition to brushing, flossing and fluoride, they protect teeth from the need for future restorations".

Sealants are a thin layer of resin that covers pits and grooves on permanent molars to prevent food and other particles from lodging in the teeth and producing decay on these surfaces. They can successfully prevent a cavity, if placed on a susceptible newly erupted tooth. However, cavities can still occur in between teeth, where the sealant cannot reach. Therefore, it is always important to remember that regardless of whether a sealant is applied to your teeth, that you always maintain a regular schedule of dental check-ups.

We invite you to discuss with Dr. Rossi about whether sealants are right for your child.
